Dearest mother

As I cross my threshold in this existence

Into womanhood

Into dignity

Into pride

Into paving my way rather than unwraveling it

This time of vast innumerable initiations provided me a glimpse into what’s to come

Into all that being a woman and a mother is

Being accountable for the weight of the world on your shoulders

Being justified in your whispers from the universe

From the source which we all come and go

From god and god’s arms, I felt them all along as you adorned me with your love

Through you, I’ve experienced the highest order of unconditional love on this planet.

I believe that wholeheartedly

I am only able to touch people

Because of how you touched me

I am only able to open my heart

Because of how you showed me the way

I am only able to feel the truth

Because of how you laid the path

I am only able to pray and release

Because you instilled a deep relationship to death in our lives

I am only able to live as fully as I do

Because of the tireless effortful insurmountable hours you’ve worked to make it be so

I am only able to be free

Because of how thick your chains are

I see this

And it makes me wonder

About the evolution of our species

If we can only grow into what we receive

So we can expand and express it

And we must begin before which we came

Perhaps we put ourselves in this maze

So that once we tasted freedom again

It would be so immaculately delicious

That we would fall to our knees

Yelling glory to all things

Screaming blessed be Mother Earth

And father sky

And we rise to our feet uniting these two entities

In a whole encompassing bond of love

In every relationship

There are the two

And then there is the third that emerges

The love by which bonds the separate beings

This love

This trinity

This is who you and I are and will always be

Our love beyond the limits of who we were even meant to be

It is the most holy unbreakable vow

I love you more deeply than I even know how

To express or to write

I love you on the inside

I love you as I love me
